Budge Budge Mela 2024
The Budge Budge Mela 2024 was a district-level administrative and community fair organized by the District Office of South 24 Parganas. It was strategically scheduled from 21st September 2024 to 2nd October 2024 to serve as a pre-festive marketing and public outreach hub.

Strategic Timing: Running for 12 days, the mela perfectly coincided with the peak pre-Durga Puja shopping season, concluding on Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October), which maximized footfall and sales for local sellers.

Empowering SHGs: A massive portion of the fair was dedicated to stalls run by local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under government livelihood schemes, giving them a direct platform to sell handcrafted items, garments, and festive decorations.

Cultural Programs: Every evening featured traditional Bengali folk music, dance performances, and community-led talent showcases organized by the district’s cultural wing to celebrate local heritage.
