West Bengal accounts for nearly 55% of India's muslin production, with efforts underway to revive the rare 500s count muslin, particularly in Nabadwip, Kalna, and Chak. Due to the high skill and patience required, annual production is limited to roughly 30 thans (11.00m X 1.27m), despite significant demand. To address the decline in skilled artisans and ensure long-term production of Bengal Pride Muslin, the West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board (WBKVIB) has established a "Training Cum Production Cum Research Centre" in partnership with the Matiary Kutir Shilpa Pratisthan in Nabadwip, Nadia.
