IT IS ANORGANISATION UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF MICRO & SMALL SCALE ENTERPRISES & TEXTILES, GOVT. OF WEST BENGAL.

West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board implement different project for improving rural economy.
The West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board has District Level infrastructures of its own to carry-out its programmes and activities in the rural areas.
As per provision of the West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board Act - 1959, there will be maximum 11l(eleven) nos. of Board's members.
West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) won the national award for securing the first position from amongst state level KVI boards under the rural employment generation programme. This was due to the exceptional performance delivered by the KVIB.
From 1998-99 tol 2006-07, the KVIB had taken up 9,584 projects and thereby providing employment to 94,419 people, but in 2007 alone 5,917 projects were undertaken providing work to 75,344 people.
