Rakhi Handicraft Sector is decentralized, unorganized and rural based, which plays an important role in economy of our country. Now, this is one of the important and largest economy activity after agriculture of this area. Hence, 82919 no. Rakhi Artisans direct & indirect including the District of Burdwan are yet to be covered under the trees of cluster during next couple of years. A number of Rakhi Artisans under Rakhi Cluster of Kalna area are either working under mahajan or engage themselves with the work partly other than different artisans work. the artisans of his are habituated to produce mainly Rakhi buti & Stone setting work which are loosing its market day by day so some of them ha diversified their item to sustain in the present competitive market and keeping in view the above facts, Rakhi Cluster Of Kalna  is being selected to fevour with the comprehensive Rakhi development scheme for the development of the artisans so as to the artisans  may get chance to change their status by earning more with the help of ample scope lying under the scheme.

Accordingly the preliminary work i.e. Base Line survey & diagnostic study of the cluster has aleady been completed conducting by the K.V.I.B office Govt.of West Bengal at Cluster place of  P.O.-& P.S.-Kalna, Dist of –Burdwan (Link to ....Impact Study....)
