Of late health care has taken a good shape in modern society. With improvement in health care and related aspects ‘Honey’ has taken a positive role in modern life of the social atmosphere. Money is part and parcel of human life since primitive age. In the days of Vedas honey had been in use for health purposes and for all sanctum sanctorum. Science has developed new techniques to purify honey in keeping with the modern days requirements.
Honey processing is a technique by which honey is made to retain its purity and quality for commercial and end use.
The present scheme envisages setting up of a plant for processing such honey and packaging of the same in available container for keeping it for long duration.
The best known primary products of beekeeping are honey and wax. The products are consumed in the state. Traditionally honey is considered the major beekeeping product. Wax has played a considerable role in only a few parts of the world and propolis is even less known. However, with increasing knowledge about beekeeping and an awareness of the beneficial aspects of many bee products, the use and demand for other products is cosmetics, medicines and foods has improved consumer appeal. While such appeal is not the traditionally claimed benefits of primary bee products.
The objective of this project is to develop the Artisans social and financial support by providing them modern technological and processing training and preservation of the product with modern machineries and finally help them to market with proper packaging and infrastructural support of the 1340 nos. of Artisans of the districts of 24 Paragnas (North), Purba Medinipur, Kalimpong.
